Title: Old Testament IV

Description: This course is a study of the Prophets in the Old Testament except for Daniel & Ezekiel. This course covers the Major Prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah-Lamentations and the Minor Prophets, Hosea through Malachi. The emphasis of the course is on each book’s unique message, fulfillment and application for today. These books contain historical narrative, character biographies, prophecy, and divine editorial on the condition of Israel. As the prophetic voice of the Lord prepared to become silent for about 400 years, there was an explosive time of declaration. Old Testament IV begins with the call to repentance and to rebuild “desolate heritages and ends with the future the ministry of the Messiah. In the minor prophets we see the rise of the victorious army of the Lord, the mountain and temple of the Lord, and a clear signal that the next time Jehovah would speak — would be through John the Baptist, in the “spirit and power of Elijah.” This course fulfills requirements for both the Level 1 Biblical Studies & Theology Certificate and Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.

Title: New Testament Letters II

Description: New Testament Letters II is a study of New Testament theology as it is developed in the books of Thessalonians to Jude. The course highlights how various authors of the general epistles address the unique ministry challenges the church faced. Course themes are: the revelation of God; the preeminence of the Word; the atonement and salvation; the nature of the church and Biblical leadership. The course includes a seminar on Biblical Faith and the practical operation of spiritual faith in the church and the life of the believer. Additionally, the course will focus on the themes from Hebrews: new covenant theology and the priesthood of the believer. This course fulfills requirements for both the Level 1 Biblical Studies & Theology Certificate and Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.

Title: Eschatology – Ezekiel, Daniel & the Book of Revelation
Course No.: 10THEO
Description: Eschatology will cover three of the most important prophetic books of the Bible dealing with the subject of the End Times: Ezekiel, Daniel, and the book of Revelation. Students will explore the prophetic signs of the End Times and will learn how to accurately discern these signs in light of Biblical truth. Understanding the themes and truths in these books, in addition to developing the ability to appropriately apply them to current day events, is critical for every believer. This is especially true for those seeking to become a teacher of the Word. This course will be taught in a seminar format to be able to examine a variety of related subjects, as well as provide students with the exposure to other qualified spiritual ministries in the Body of Christ. This course fulfills requirements for both the Level 1 Biblical Studies & Theology Certificate and Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.

Title: Assemblies of God History & Polity – Practical Ministry 3
Course No.: 13PMIN
Description: Each student who wishes to fulfill the required coursework for credentialling with the Assemblies of God should enroll in Assemblies of God History & Polity. This course is aligned with topics mandated by the General Counsel of the Assemblies God as taught by Berean University. Topics will include Assemblies of God Church administration, law and governance, and Assemblies of God history, polity and ministerial ethics. The book People of the Spirit by Gary McGee is required reading. Additionally, the course will explore traditional ministry services provided by the local church such as weddings, funerals, baptisms, and communion. This course is offered for credit aligned with the Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.
