Description: Old Testament 1 focuses on the study of the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible. Starting with Genesis, the purpose of this course is to receive God's revelation of Himself by studying His character and nature. Through examining God’s revelation in His creation and the lives of the Hebrew Patriarchs, students gain insight into His eternal plan of redemption; covenantal dealings with Israel; and the significance of themes such as the fall of mankind from God’s original intention and the Law of Moses. These spiritual truths and revelations from the Pentateuch serve as the foundational lens through which we accurately interpret and apply the entire Bible in the lives of Christian believers today. Title: Old Testament II

Description: Old Testament II is a study of the 9 historical books of the Old Testament from Joshua through 2 Chronicles. The course is a study of Israel’s developing national identity from theocracy to monarchy. The course will emphasize God’s dealings with Israel from rejection of theocracy to the formation and later decline of the monarchy. The course follows the biblical emphasis on developing monarchy as the Messiah’s royal lineage and the priesthood as the Messiah’s covenantal ministry through the development of David’s Tabernacle and Solomon’s Temple. The course will also focus on the significant Old Testament personalities whose lives impacted civilization and influenced Israel. Title: Old Testament III

Description: Old Testament III is the study of the Restoration Books of Ezra through Esther and the poetic and wisdom books of Psalms through Song of Solomon. The course emphasizes God’s faithfulness to his promises in the lives of those who will believe him. The Restoration Books show us that God is at work to fulfill His purposes for His remnant people over every kingdom and government, the book of Job teaches how we are to respond in crisis and testing, the book of Psalms teaches us that worship brings intimacy with God, and the Wisdom Books contain practical guidance for everyday life. Title: Old Testament IV

Description: This course is a study of the Prophets in the Old Testament except for Daniel & Ezekiel. This course covers the Major Prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah-Lamentations and the Minor Prophets, Hosea through Malachi. The emphasis of the course is on each book’s unique message, fulfillment and application for today. These books contain historical narrative, character biographies, prophecy, and divine editorial on the condition of Israel. As the prophetic voice of the Lord prepared to become silent for about 400 years, there was an explosive time of declaration. Old Testament IV begins with the call to repentance and to rebuild “desolate heritages and ends with the future the ministry of the Messiah. In the minor prophets we see the rise of the victorious army of the Lord, the mountain and temple of the Lord, and a clear signal that the next time Jehovah would speak — would be through John the Baptist, in the “spirit and power of Elijah.” This course fulfills requirements for both the Level 1 Biblical Studies & Theology Certificate and Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.

Description: Life of Christ covers the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the four gospels. The course begins with an exploration of the historical background of the gospels and Messianic prophesy. The emphasis of the course is the unfolding revelation of Jesus Christ as God incarnate. From the events of Christ’s birth to his death and resurrection, students will discover the importance and relevance of His teachings, miracles, and life example. Emphasis will be placed on God’s plan of eternal salvation and the importance of relating to the living Christ as he is at work in the hearts of people today through the power of the Holy Spirit. Description: The Holy Spirit and the Book of Acts is the study of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the development of the New Testament Church in the book of Acts. The emphasis of the course is on the birth of the Church and the important foundations established by the Apostles of Jesus Christ. Description: New Testament Letters I is the study of the letters written by the Apostle Paul to teach, encourage, exhort, and address issues in the churches. Each letter reveals Paul’s Father heart for those churches he had “begotten in the Gospel”. Paul’s letters address the unique challenges each church faced in his absence. Paul communicates doctrine, guidelines for practical living, and specific instructions regarding situations. The course covers the book of Romans through Colossians. Description: Foundations of Spiritual Ministry Course is unique. The course is taught in a seminar format to provide students with exposure to different qualified spiritual ministries in the Body of Christ. Every topic has been intentionally chosen to guide the student’s ministry focus toward a deeper personal knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is from this foundational motive that all ministry efforts emerge, with the ultimate goal of making Him known to the world. The course begins with The Revelation of His Life, a seminar that focuses on the identity of the born-again, spirit-filled believer. Spiritual Disciplines addresses the hallmark characteristics of a truly Christian lifestyle and ministry. Additionally, the course will explore the topics of Discipleship & Christian Character Formation, Worship: Ultimate Issue of the Universe, Homiletics: Relevant Preaching and Spiritual Safety. The course will assist every student in their quest for spiritual integrity and the appropriate expression of their call of God to the church and the world.

Additionally, the course includes hands-on training that will develop excellence in ministry. Each student enrolled in 11PMIN will be placed in a variety of service opportunities within the local church to develop ministry experience in different contexts and cultural expressions. Title: The Church & The Effective Christian Leader, Practical Ministry 2

Description: The Church & The Effective Christian course seeks to help students develop practical, effective Christian Leadership skills by exploring topics such as the call of God, Biblical values of leadership, and successful relationships. The course uses a seminar format to cover a variety of related subjects as well as provide students with exposure to different qualified spiritual ministries in the Body of Christ. By an emphasis on the nature, character, function and ministry of the church locally and globally, the students will be equipped to effectively fulfill the Great Commission through evangelism and missions. Students will also be equipped with a Pastoral Care and Ministry toolkit which includes conflict resolutions skills, biblical counseling and ministerial ethics. This course fulfills requirements for Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.

Additionally, the course includes hands-on training that will develop excellence in ministry. Students enrolled in 12PMIN will be assigned to internship positions of regular preaching, teaching, counseling, discipleship and/or evangelism to prepare them for leadership placement. Title: Assemblies of God History & Polity – Practical Ministry 3

Description: Each student who wishes to fulfill the required coursework for credentialling with the Assemblies of God should enroll in Assemblies of God History & Polity. This course is aligned with topics mandated by the General Counsel of the Assemblies God as taught by Berean University. Topics will include Assemblies of God Church administration, law and governance, and Assemblies of God history, polity and ministerial ethics. The book People of the Spirit by Gary McGee is required reading. Additionally, the course will explore traditional ministry services provided by the local church such as weddings, funerals, baptisms, and communion. This course is offered for credit aligned with the Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate.
