The mission of LBS is fully realized through the implementation of the academic program. LBS seeks to teach students to know the Bible and train them in supernatural ministry. As such, LBS places equal emphasis on the expression of the Holy Spirit and the preaching of the word of God. Students will rigorously engage in the study of the Bible while at the same time gain practical ministry experience through internship field study courses. The core curriculum encompasses Biblical, theological and ministerial studies reflected in the following goals:
1. Biblical & Theological Scholarship
Graduates will accurately communicate an understanding of the content of the entire Bible and theological methods that will equip them with a defendable Biblical world view.
2. Practical Ministry Internship Practicum
Graduates will effectively and accurately communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit.
LBS will grant certifications in accordance with the academic goals of Biblical & Theological Scholarship and Practical Ministry Internship for graduates. LBS Certificate Programs are intended to prepare students for two levels of ministry; credentialed minister and lay ministry roles in the church.
Level 1 - Biblical Studies Certificate
• 36 credits in Biblical Studies & Theology
• Fulfills the LBS goal for Biblical and Theological Scholarship.
Level 2 – Ministerial Studies Certificate
• 48 credits in Biblical studies and practical ministry internship
• Fulfills the LBS goal for both Bible Scholarship and Ministry Practicum.
Graduates who fulfill the requirements for Level 2 Ministerial Studies Certificate will have met the academic requirements to apply for Licensed Minister status with Lighthouse Christian Church, Sonoma, California and/or The General Council of the Assemblies of God, USA.
